Joined the NBU project as financial literacy ambassadors

We are glad to share the summary of the “The profession of banker: a journey from Ukrainian shah to a bank” nationwide project initiated by the National Bank of Ukraine. The program was aimed to promote financial awareness among pupils and encourage young people to be conscious about money and about their future financial decisions.

We admire our colleagues that became the financial literacy ambassadors of TASCOMBANK and conducted lessons for the pupils; they were more like honest conversations about finances, freedom of choice, confidence in the future.

We share our colleagues’ impressions of this wonderful experience:

Chebusheva Natalia Serhiivna, the Head of the Education center, determined the mission of ambassadorship:

“We gladly joined the initiative of the NBU, because we believe that a strong country and a new responsible generation are created through education, inspiration and real life examples”.

Denys Petrenko, the Director of the Dnipro branch No. 77, who conducted a lesson in the Dnipro gymnasium No. 118, shared his teaching methods: “The children got acquainted with the basis of circulation of money, history of the national currency, saving, cash and cashless payments, and, of course, with the profession of banker ”.

Yehor Hnatenko, the Project and Program Manager, visited the Kyiv school No. 175, ponders: “The standard of life has changed: children of the 90s were happy with cookies and candies; children of today know that 100 hryvnias are better than any sweets. They understand that money is not everything, but it is a lot of things, and that the best gift is money. That means that we, as adults, have an objective to help them master this fascinating, but difficult science – financial literacy”.

Anna Talabai, the Project and Program Manager after visiting the “Socium” lyceum No. 240, could not hide her emotions: “I was pleasantly surprised that almost all children understand that money can be cash and digital and what is the difference between them; they are well-versed on where and how you can pay with the card and how to carry out card transactions”.

Victoria Stepaniuk, the Specialist of the Leasing Operations Support Division, after the lesson in the lyceum No. 230 shared the following: “During the event, children tried to create their own payment card. Also, we had a conversation on the topic of “What are cash and cashless funds, what are the purposes of their use?” The children enthusiastically answered my questions and really wanted to know the answers to theirs”.

Alla Isaieva, the Chief Specialist of the Education center is convinced that this will be continued: “This is not my first experience providing training to the children from TASCOMBANK. We will continue doing that both within the NBU initiatives and our own programs”.

We thank our colleagues for the initiative and educational institutions for hospitality!
