TASCOMBANK teaches financial literacy to those who teach others

Oleksandr Zaiets, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, gave a lecture on financial literacy for educators of “Architectural Engineering collegium A+”. The educational institution is a corporate client of the Bank, so this meeting became a continuation of collaboration not only in a financial sense, but also in an educational one.

“Such lectures motivate and inspire not only teachers, but also me as a speaker. You share your knowledge with hundreds, but essentially, you influence thousands because teachers pass down their knowledge to their students.  This is an investment into the future”, — said Oleksandr Zaiets.

During the lecture, teachers took a financial literacy test that has been designed by the NBU. It was kind of a financial check-up that helps the participants to identify the gaps in their knowledge and fill them in immediately. Double benefit: lecture from an expert and an opportunity to ask practical questions.

According to the NBU data, financial literacy of Ukrainians is gradually increasing, but it is still lower than the recommended level. According to the “Financial literacy, financial inclusion and financial well-being in Ukraine” research (2021), an average is 12.3 points out of 21, while the base level according to the OECD is 14 points.

TASCOMBANK will continue to support educators and students of the collegium, sharing our knowledge. For the Bank, it is a part of a systematic work with educational institutions across the country.
